Logan-Rogersville sweeps Pembroke Hill to advance to state title match

Logan-Rogersville volleyball made quick work of Pembroke Hill with a sweep (25-20, 25-20, 25-11) in the Class 4 state semifinals.

The Wildcats will play for program’s second state title against Westminster Christian at 10 am on Saturday. It will be the fifth state championship match appearance for the program.

Rogersville started out slowly against Pembroke Hill falling behind 8-2. They responded with a 23-12 run to take the first set 25-20.

It was the same story in the second set with Rogersville going down 5-2 early. The Wildcats scored the next five points and never trailed again in the set on the way to another 25-20.

Rogersville left no doubt in the third set with a 25-11 win to advance to the Class 4 state championship match.

Zoe Reel led the Wildcats with 14 kills and a ridiculous .448 hitting percentage. Lauren Tyler provided 27 assists from her setter position. Brianna Linehan had 10 digs.

Now Rogersville will be looking for the program’s second state title. The Wildcats last won in 2018. This will be the third state championship match appearance in four years for Rogersville.
