The Bradleyville boys basketball team had a streak of seven consecutive double-digit win seasons snapped last year, as the Eagles finished 7-11 overall.
They will look to get back above the 10-win plateau this year with a wealth of varsity experience returning.
“We should have a community of leaders on our team this year,” Bradleyville head coach Reggie Roepke said. “Lance Day (forward), Trevor Blair (guard) and Tyler Thomas (guard) are all seniors with significant varsity experience. Dylan Hunsaker (guard) and Kasey Lehmann (forward) are both juniors with ample varsity experience as well. All of these kids lead with different styles, both physically with their play as well as verbally. Each of these boys will all be called upon at some point in the season to lead and produce results.”
Hunsaker led the team in scoring last year with just over 13 per game. He was named second-team all-conference last year. Day was the team’s leading rebounder with 7.3 per game last year.

Seth Combs (sophomore forward), Braden Wilson (junior forward), Chase Chandler (junior forward) and Gunnar Fisher (senior forward) will all compete for varsity minutes along with Sonny Guerin (senior forward) and Brock Rogers (junior forward).
“We should have a very well-rounded team with a lot of veterans and upperclassmen. We will have a team that enjoys to work hard and relishes opportunities to play the game,” Roepke said. “We will have to take care of the basketball and manage the pressure situations we will undoubtedly find ourselves in this year. We will need to mesh as one unit to be productive on both sides of the ball.”
Bradleyville will open the regular season on Nov. 19 at Hollister.
“With the ability we have, we will have the opportunity to win a lot of games this year,” Roepke said. “If we do not come ready to work each day and ready to play each game, we could also lose a lot of games this year. We will be as good as the boys want to work for. These boys have a lot of spirit and if we can maximize our potential, I believe we can, and will, compete with everyone we will play.”
