School of the Ozarks boys basketball is ready for regular season after competing in just nine games last year because of COVID. The Patriots finished 4-5 in the abbreviated season.
Seniors Israel Reynolds and Lucas Wright will be team leaders. Reynolds, a guard, averaged 15 points per game. Wright, a forward, averaged 6 points and 6 rebounds per game last year.
“Both are young me of character,” School of the Ozarks head coach Jerry Martin said. “(Both) compete hard and are our top players. They also have the most experience.”
Sam Mutrux, Caleb Widner and Graham Willhoit will be key contributors.
“All are new to varsity, but each brings something needed with our graduation losses,” Martin said. “Caleb (brings) ball handling. Sam is very good defensively. Graham brings much needed rebounding.”
Freshman Josiah Martin will have an immediate varsity impact.
School of the Ozarks opens the regular season on Nov. 19 at Humansville.
