Wil Carlton, Marionville Junior
Also a football standout, Carlton’s calling comes on the basketball court where he averaged 16.2 points, four rebounds and 2.8 assists as a sophomore. Carlton plays with poise and pace, having that unique ability to take over a game without scoring a point. With that being said, he’s still a bucket.
Jaiden Carrasquillo, Verona Senior
Just like every other Carrasquillo that has worn a Verona jersey, Jaiden seemingly scores at will. He averaged 23 PPG as a junior, using his 6-foot-2 frame to finish at the rim or get off tough shots over defenders. He opened the 2021-22 season with 27 vs. Hurley this week. His average may end up north of that.
Garrett Davault, Norwood Senior
Evangel University signed one of the top scorers in the state in Davault. As a junior, he led Norwood to the Final Four, posting 25.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and three assists. That includes a 50-point game last February. Going for 40-plus is nothing new to him, something he’s been doing since his freshman year.
Bryce Hambelton, Gainesville Senior
As the name suggests, he has to be able to score. As a junior he shot a ridiculous 67 percent from the field, averaging 17.9 points and 8.3 rebounds. He commands double teams and anchors a Bulldog defense that held seven opponents to 40 points or less.
Miller Long, College Heights Senior
College Heights won its first district title in program history last year, with Long leading the group in scoring at 22 PPG. He’s also broken the 1,000-point mark for his career and at 6-foot-5, is one of the elite shooters in the Ozarks.
Isaiah Mitchell, Blue Eye Senior
He’s the latest in a long line of Mitchell’s that have been standout athletes. Isaiah put up 18 points and six rebounds a night last year, earning All-SWCL and All-District honors. Like his brothers, he’s a big-time shooter, knocking down at least six 3’s in multiple games last season.
Chanler Sisco, Alton Senior
He’s not well known around the Ozarks, but that wouldn’t be the case if he lived closer to Springfield. Sisco is an impressive athlete that has no problem finishing above the rim despite being just 6-foot-2. He’s a future college basketball player for the Comets.
