Three area girls nominated for McDonald’s All-American game

The nominee lists for the 2022 McDonald’s All-American games have been released. The area had three girls named to the nominee list including Ash Grove’s Khloe Moad, Kickapoo’s Bella Fontleroy and Rolla’s Savannah Campbell.

There were 14 girls total from Missouri nominated.

On the boys’ side, no local players playing for MSHSAA member schools were nominated, but Link Academy in Branson had four nominees in Felix Okpara, Julian Phillips, Tarris Reed Jr. and Jordan Walsh.

The final rosters will be named on Jan. 25 on ESPN’s NBA Today between 3 and 4 p.m. The 45th anniversary McDonald’s All-American games will take place in Chicago on Mar. 29 at 6:30 p.m. with the girls game followed immediately by the boys game. The games will be broadcast on ESPN 2.

Moad, Fontleroy and Campbell will look to join Greenwood’s Aminu Mohammed (2021) and Branson’s Priscilla Williams (2020) as the only local players for MSHSAA member schools to be named McDonald’s All-American.
