SPRINGFIELD — Missouri State men’s basketball coach Dana Ford announced today that Keaton Hervey has entered the transfer portal and is parting ways with the Bears program.
“We respect Keaton’s decision to enter his name into the transfer portal, and we wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors,” said Ford. “Not only do we appreciate the player he has been for Missouri State but also the student and most importantly the great person that he is.
I am thankful for his investment in this team and I am confident in his future as an amazing young man.”
Hervey played in 41 games with the Bears the last two seasons, starting all 24 contests in 2020-21. He averaged 5.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game and shot the ball at a 46.3-percent clip from the field during that span.
Originally from Cedar Park, Texas, Hervey came to Missouri State from New Mexico Junior College where he played in 2019-20. He spent the 2018-19 season at Incarnate Word University in Texas.
Ford and the Bears have compiled an impressive 14-6 overall record this season and currently sit in second place in the Missouri Valley Conference standings with a 5-2 league record. With 10 wins in its last 12 games, Missouri State takes on No. 22-ranked Loyola Chicago on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
