ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Former Missouri State men’s soccer standouts Kyle Hiebert, Josh Dolling and Michael Creek have all signed contracts with the St. Louis City Soccer Club, the Major League Soccer expansion franchise announced Monday (Feb. 7).
The trio was instrumental in the Bears capturing three-straight Missouri Valley Conference regular season titles titles from 2019-21.
Hiebert (La Salle, Manitoba, Canada) was a key part of MSU’s backline during his time in Springfield. He started in 18 games during the 2021 season, appearing in all 19 and clocking a team-high 1,625 minutes. He is the first-ever MVC player to win three-straight Defensive Player of the Year awards. During his final season with the Bears, he helped the team to a .573 goals against average good for No. 3 in the nation Hiebert is also a five-time CoSIDA Academic All-American and a three-time United Soccer Coaches All-American.
Dolling (Liverpool, England) will join the St. Louis City SC after being a key part of MSU’s offensive attack since 2017. In 2021, he played the second-most minutes for MSU (1,572) appearing in every game. He recorded four goals during the Bears’ 2021 campaign, assisting six others. All of his goals were game winners, as he extended his hold on the MSU record with 17 in his career. This year, Dolling became a three-time United Soccer Coaches All-American.
Creek (St. Louis, Mo) will return to his hometown to join the expansion team, after starting in the goal for the Bears from 2018-21. During 2021, he posted a .618 goals against average with 31 saves and 10 goals allowed which ranked fourth in the nation. He also was instrumental in the Bears’ recording eight shutouts over 16 games, which was tied for 12th nationally. Creek did not allow a goal during the MVC tournament and was named MVP for his efforts. He is also a four-time CoSIDA Academic All-American.
