The Greenwood boys’ and girls’ basketball teams have a pair of sharpshooters this season. It just so happens both of them share the same last name.

These two siblings started their basketball journey in the driveaway at home. Now, they’re leading the way for their respective teams.

Ryan and Hannah Gibbons have been playing basketball together their whole lives.

“We’re two years apart and being at the same school is one thing but being able to play a high school sport at the same time it’s pretty cool,” Greenwood senior Ryan Gibbons said.

It’s also cool that these two hardly miss.

Hannah has made 107 threes and Ryan has made 86 threes in the regular season.

So how did these two get so good?

“Repetition,” said Ryan.

“Yep, reps,” Greenwood sophomore Hannah Gibbons agreed.

“You do it so many times that it’s just natural,” added Ryan.

Almost as natural as their sibling rivalry.

“It’s just a competition, we just try and see who can do the best,” said Hannah.

There’s only one way to find out, so we had a competition.

Hannah’s up first, thirty seconds on the clock to see who can make the most threes.

She sinks two early and gets in a groove and makes four more to finish with six.

Then it’s Ryan’s turn, the senior steps up to make one and then goes into automatic mode and hits six straight to finish with seven.

One more than his sister, but we did this for three rounds, in which Hannah winning the other two.

The competition isn’t over.

Only one way to settle this, one shot from half-court.

Hannah banks it in. Ryan sinks it nothing but net.

Is there any place they can’t score?

“I win because mine didn’t hit the backboard,” said Ryan.

“Mine still went through the net,” Hannah said.

This may be an argument they need to settle at home.
