Andrew Link Balancing College Offers With Kickapoo Goals

As his brother Adam closes his college career as a baseball pitcher for Missouri State, Kickapoo senior football standout Andrew Link is excited that his college career has yet to begin. “I’ve seen him go through the recruiting process and be successful in college,” said Andrew. “He’s an inspiration for me.”

It’s something that’s helped the defensive end and tight end with every football camp Andrew attends. “Once the 2022 class had signing day it’s really blown up,” said Andrew. “I’ve got twelve different Division I offers.”

Andrew recently attended a camp at Lindenwood University and came back with four offers from coaches in attendance. He knows he’s going to have to eliminate some teams from consideration at some point. “I’m looking for a coaching staff that wants me,” said Andrew. “A good program and good academics.”

But for now, he’s enjoying the process. “I do some research, but I’m taking it all in right now,” said Andrew. “When it’s time to start making the decision, I’ll narrow it down.”

After all, Andrew and the Chiefs have unfinished business to attend to first. “Hopefully we go deep in the playoffs and go undefeated,” he said.

His potential college coaches want him to focus on defense at the next level. But in his final season in high school, there’s something else he’s working on that he knows will help him wherever the coaches decide to play him. “I want to be a better leader,” said Andrew.
