Drury alum Garrison signs to play pro basketball overseas

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Former Drury Panthers guard Conley Garrison will launch his professional basketball career next season in Germany. Garrison signed with VfL SparkassenStars Bochum at the Pro A level.

The guard from Bolivar, Missouri, played for the Panthers from 2017-2021 and ended his four-year career ranked 11th on Drury’s all-time scoring list with 1,747 points. Garrison used a fifth year of eligibly in 2021-22 playing for Furman and averaged 9.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals for the Paladins. He posted a .422 percentage from three-point range as Furman advanced to the Southern Conference championship game.

Garrison was a three-time First Team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference selection and was named to the All-Midwest Regional team three times for Drury. In addition to being ranked 11th on Drury’s all-time scoring list, Garrison ended his career with the sixth-most assists in team history with 488, and he is third in three-pointers made (321) and fourth in steals (174).

At Bolivar, Garrison led the Liberators to a Class 4 state runner-up finish in his senior season while averaging 18.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists. An All-State selection, he finished his high school ranked sixth at Bolivar in career points and was second all-time in assists and steals.

Drury men’s basketball has produced more than 20 players that have represented the Panthers in professional leagues domestically or overseas.
