Golden City volleyball has had two of the best seasons in program history the past two years. In 2020, the Eagles won 23 matches. Last year, Golden City upped that to 24 wins.
The Eagles will be looking to chase a district title with six players who have starting experience returning.
“We expect to have strong season, challenge for conference and district championships,” Golden City head coach Jeremy Scott said. “We have had a lot of continuity the last two years, and I am excited to see some of the new players develop and start to realize their potential.”
Golden City graduated Ozark 7 Conference Player of the Year, but returns three other all-conference selections. Senior Kyndall Scott earned first-team all-conference honors last year. The setter is a four-year starter.

Kylee Scott was a second-team all-conference libero last year. She will be moving to outside hitter this year. Ahree Lutes is the third returning all-conference player. The senior was honorable mention all-conference last year and will be a middle hitter.
Senior Maggie Reed is a three-year starter and will return as a middle hitter. Sienna Wirth is a junior back row player with a great serve.
The sophomore class features Tyra Menadue, Jade Pennington, Elizabeth Renfro, Reese Moore and Teagan Warner. Menadue started last year. Warner is a transfer from Kansas.
“We expect big things from this group as they gain more experience,” Scott said. “The growth of our young players both mentally and skill wise will determine how far we can go this year. We also have a couple of players in new positions which should showcase what they are capable of.”
Golden City opens the season on Aug. 27 at the Verona Tournament.
“Our biggest strength this year should be two things. We have a lot of athleticism, and we have built a winning culture going 47-16 the last two years,” Scott said. “The kids know what it takes to put in the work and meet expectations.”
