Seneca softball will look to ride its offense coming off an 11-win season in 2021.
“Our offense can push some runs across,” Seneca head coach Jeff Sill said. “We need to make the most out of each at bat. We will have to be versatile depending who is in the circle.”
Those pitchers in the circle will be sophomore Callie Rhoades and freshman Abby Jamros. Rhoades was also a key part of the offense last year hitting .391 with a 1.106 OPS. She earned honorable mention all-conference honors.
Behind the plate expect to see Bailey Lannon (senior) and Liberty Cornnell (senior). Lannon hit .333 with a .422 on-base percentage. She earned second-team all-conference honors.

The infield lineup will feature a combination of Daylin Mcknight (senior), Bailey Waddell (junior), Makaylee Mitchell (sophomore), Callie Rhoades (sophomore), Maci Brown (senior) and Isabella Renfro (junior).
Expect Liberty Cornnell (senior), Kahli Fields (sophomore), Paris Denning (sophomore), Kenzie French (junior) and Kally Shaver (junior) to be in the mix for time in the outfield. Fields was an honorable mention all-conference selection as a freshman last year. She hit .256 with a .322 on-base percentage.
Seneca will host Monett and Webb City for a jamboree on Aug. 19 at 3 pm. The Lady Indians open the regular season on Aug. 30 at Carthage.
“(We want to) continue to grow as a team throughout the year and play the best games during district tournament,” Sill said.
