Lady Panthers picked to repeat as GLVC Champions in preseason poll
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The six-time defending Great Lakes Valley Conference champions are picked to win the conference in the preseason coaches’ poll.
Drury received 12 first-place votes and 144 points in the poll to finish as the preseason favorite. Truman State received the second-most points with 126 and Missouri-St. Louis finished third in the voting with 120 points and one first-place vote. The coaches could not vote for their own team.
This will be the first year since the 2019-20 season that the GLVC will not include divisions. The top eight teams, as determined by the conference’s Point Rating System, will advance to the GLVC Championship Tournament on March 2-5, 2023. The location of the tournament is yet to be determined.
The Lady Panthers return 10 letter winners, including three All-GLVC members, Alana Findley (First Team), Kaylee DaMitz-Holt (Second Team), and Terrion Moore (Third Team), in addition to four newcomers.
Amy Eagan will enter her third year as head coach at Drury and her 14th season as a collegiate head coach. Last year, the Lady Panthers went 32-5, 17-3 in the GLVC, won their sixth-straight conference championship, and made it to the NCAA Regional semifinals.
