Wheaton girls basketball will be a young squad coming off a 13-13 season.
“We are a very young team this year, so everyone feeds off of each other, and they work well together,” said Wheaton head coach Jessica Dermott.
A pair of starters in Allison Whitman and Bailee Gorman return.
“Allison Whitman was our leading outside shooter last season,” Dermott said. “Bailee Gorman is our bulldog who just gets in there and works hard at whatever she does.”

Whitman earned first-team all-conference honors last season.
Jayci Park and Raelyn BuckHannan are incoming freshmen will play a big part this year.
Gorman along with Hailey Vandergrift and Kauseng Hang showed great off-season improvement.
Health will be key for Wheaton with low numbers this year.
“The numbers are low so the girls will have to work hard to rely on each other to be successful,” Dermott said. “We will have to continue to stay in shape, and out of foul trouble this season to be able to be successful.”
Wheaton opens the regular season on Nov. 19 at the Verona Tournament.
