Dadeville returns three starters from last season’s 14-13 team that posted the program’s first winning season since 2012-13.
“We bring three starters from a team that posted the school’s first winning record in several years,” said Dadeville head coach John Roller. “With this experience and the addition of some talented we believe this could be an even better season.”
The three returning senior starters are Chloe Cornelison, Libby Lakey and Ellie Mitchell.
Roller on Cornelison: “Chloe is already a three-time all-conference and all-district selection. She led the team in scoring (12 ppg), rebounding (7 rpg) and blocks (1.5) last year. She can shoot from inside or outside. A lot of talent that just keeps improving, Chloe was last year’s team MVP.”
Roller on Lakey: “Libby was a close 2nd in scoring (11.5) and led the team in assists and steals. She was second-team all-conference and first-team all-district. After missing her entire sophomore season due to health issues Libby came back strong and was the team’s Offensive Player of the Year as a junior.”
Roller on Mitchell: “Ellie led the team in 3-point goals last year (28) and was the team’s third leading scorer (5 ppg). In addition, she once again played the role as “the stopper” guard on defense. Ellie has tremendous work ethic, winning last year’s coveted “Bearcat Award” for the third straight year.”

Sophomore guard Eden Black returns after coming off the bench as a freshman.
“Eden came off the bench as a freshman last year and contributed significant minutes,” Roller said. “Her work ethic and consistent improvement will earn her a starting role this year.”
Freshmen Claire Mitchell and Lauryn Sinclair will look to make immediate varsity impacts.
“Claire had a great summer. Her combination of skill, speed and size will no doubt immediately earn her significant playing time this year,” Roller said. “Lauryn also had a great summer, and no doubt will see a lot of varsity minutes this season. Her outside shooting continues to improve which will add some scoring potential off the bench.”
Dadeville opens the season on Nov. 18 at home against Sheldon.
“We hope to continue to establish ourselves as a team that can play up-tempo on both sides of the ball, making every game exciting for the players and the fans,” Roller said.
