Weaubleau girls basketball will be short on numbers coming off a 15-win season.
The Tigers had just eight players on the roster last season. Two graduated and another two moved out of the district. Right now, head coach Sue Ginnings expects to have nine on the roster.
Juniors Jaylee Daggett and Sutton Mitchell return to the starting lineup.
“They are my only two returning starters both are competitors,” Ginnings said. “They work hard and set good examples for their other teammates.”
Junior Tayler Ashlock is Weaubleau’s other returning player.

“I look for her to help out with outside shooting and on the defensive end,” Ginnings said.
Freshman Sophia Weaver will make an immediate impact.
“She’s a small guard quick, shoots well and is a strong defensive player,” Ginnings said.
Weaubleau opens the season at the Warsaw Tournament Nov. 28 through Dec. 3.
“We were unable to play any this summer because lack of numbers,” Ginnings said. “I have several new girls playing this year as of right now we have nine. I don’t know much about their abilities yet but I’m very grateful that they are playing. I look for this year to be a rebuilding year.”
