SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury forward Alana Findley was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for her performance during the week of Jan. 1-8.

The senior from Fair Grove averaged 20 points, five rebounds, and 2.5 steals in two games last week while shooting 71 percent from the field. Findley made 17 of 24 shots last week, was 1 for 2 from three-point range and 5 for 5 at the free throw line. Her 20 points per game came while only averaging 22.5 minutes.

Findley had 19 points, five rebounds and three steals against McKendree last Thursday, then followed that by scoring 21 points on 9 of 11 shooting from the field and she added five rebounds in Saturday’s game against Indianapolis.

The Lady Panthers went 2-0 last week, defeating McKendree 96-57 and UIndy 93-74 on Saturday.

Findley’s award marks the fourth time this season a Drury player has won the conference’s weekly honor and she is the third different DU player to take the trophy. Kaylee DaMitz-Holt has won the award twice and Terrion Moore was also honored by the league earlier this year. The award marks the first time in Findley’s career she has been named the conference’s Player of the Week.

Drury is 13-1, 6-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and ranked third in NCAA-II. Drury’s next game is Jan. 9 when they travel to Lewis for a 5:30 pm game in Romeoville, Illinois.
