Glendale claims Gary Keeling Tournament title in triple OT

Glendale claimed the 30th Annual Gary Keeling Memorial Tournament title 53-49 over Ozark in triple overtime on Thursday night.

The top-seeded Lady Falcons jumped out early on Ozark taking a 15-10 lead after the first quarter. That five-point lead held into the half with Glendale leading 25-20 at the break.

Out of the half, Ozark began chipping away. The Lady Tigers outscored Glendale 10-7 in the third quarter and 8-6 in the fourth to force overtime tied at 38-38.

Each team managed seven points in the first overtime sending the game to the second. Just four total points were scored in the second overtime leaving the game tied at 47-47.

Glendale got it going in the third overtime outscoring Ozark 7-2 to take the game and the tournament title.

Rachel Flewell led Glendale with 17 points in the game with nine coming in the first half. Reilly Heman stepped up in the overtimes scoring six of Glendale’s 16 points in the three overtime periods on her way to 14 points for the game.

Jordyn Foley kept Ozark afloat in the first half scoring 10 of Ozark’s 20 points in the first two periods on her way to a game-high 18 points. She knocked down four 3-pointers in the game with three coming in the first half. She was also big in the overtime periods scoring five of Ozark’s 11 overtime points.

Ozark was balanced outside of Foley with six players scoring between two and eight points.
