Burgess scores 27 to lead Koshkonong past School of the Ozarks

No. 5 seed Koshkonong upset No. 4 seed School of the Ozarks to advance to the Class 1 District 4 semifinals. The Blue Jays started fast and never looked back in the 59-31 win.

Koshkonong clamped down defensively in the first quarter while flowing offensively to post an 18-2 advantage after on frame. The Patriots played the Blue Jays close in the second quarter winning the frame 11-10. Koshkonong pulled away even more in the third quarter carrying a 43-20 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Kaiden Burgess was unstoppable inside the arc for Koshkonong with 12 baskets and three free throws leading to a game-high 27 points. Jobe Sturgeon also scored in double figures for Koshkonong with 13 points.

Caleb Widner led School of the Ozarks with 10 points.

Koshkonong (7-16) advances to face No. 1 seed, and host, Chadwick on Wednesday at 6 pm. School of the Ozarks finishes its season with a 7-16 record overall.
