No. 5 seed Catholic opened then Class 3 District 11 tournament with an upset of No. 5 seed Forsyth 57-39.
Forsyth carried a two-point lead, 15-13, after one quarter.
Then Catholic took control with a 14-8 advantage in the second quarter to take a 27-23 lead into the break. The Irish expanded the lead from there with a seven-point advantage in both the third and fourth quarters on the way to the win.
Olivia Swisshelm led Catholic and all scorers with 16 points. Peyton Wiseman and Katie Galligos were just behind her with 13 points each.

Savannah Koen led Forsyth with 11 points.
Catholic advances to face No. 1 seed Fair Grove in the Class 3 District 11 semifinals on at 6 pm on Thursday in Sparta.
