Hartville beats defending Class 2 state champion Norwood in C2D10 finals

Hartville used a dominant second quarter to beat defending Class 2 state champion Norwood 53-33 in the Class 2 District 10 title game.

The Eagles trailed 6-5 after one quarter. Hartville turned it around in the second quarter keeping Norwood off the scoreboard while scoring 14 points to turn a one-point deficit into a 19-6 lead at the half. The two teams played even at 13-13 in the third quarter before Hartville put the game away with a 21-14 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Jalon Cryer (15 points), Haylon Bel (14 points) and Grant Culver (11 points) all scored in double figures for Hartville. Cooper Vaughan led Norwood with 11 points.

Hartville (23-5) advances to face Eugene (22-6) in the Class 2 state sectional round at 6 pm on Monday in Lebanon.
