Greenfield used a big fourth quarter to come back and beat 12-time defending district champion Walnut Grove 50-39 in the Class 1 District 4 title game. The win avenged a 48-39 regular season loss to the Tigers.
Greenfield came out strong with an 11-6 lead after one quarter. The two teams matched each other in the second quarter to send the game into the half at 21-16 in favor of Greenfield.
Out of the break, Walnut Grove went to work winning the quarter 16-6 to build a 32-27 lead going into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Greenfield went off. The Wildcats almost doubled the output from the first three quarters with a 23-7 advantage in the fourth quarter to turn a five-point deficit into an 11-point victory.

Marlie Wright was again at the center of everything for Greenfield with 32 points in the game including 17 points in the fourth quarter. Wright was a perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line in the game while also pulling down nine rebounds.
Tatum Torres scored 14 for Greenfield in the win.
Walnut Grove was led by 17 points from Jacie Gavisk and 10 points from Ellie Smith.
Greenfield (21-5) will face Chadwick (22-5) in the Class 1 state sectional round on at 7:45 pm on Tuesday in Mountain View.
