Golden City won a back-and-forth Class 1 District 6 title game over Liberal 40-35 with Kyndall Scott leading the way with 25 points.
The game was tied after one quarter at 8-8. Golden City jumped into the lead at the half 21-16. Scott scored 11 of Golden City’s 13 points in the second quarter Liberal responded in the third quarter holding Scott to just three points in the frame to take a 29-28 lead into the final quarter.
Golden City got contributions from three players in the deciding fourth quarter to win the final eight minutes 12-6 and the game 40-35.

Scott hit four 3-pointers and went 5-for-7 from the free throw line in the win.
Golden City (24-4) will travel to Bolivar to face Macks Creek (23-5) at 6 pm on Monday in the Class 1 state sectional round.
