Hillcrest used a balanced attack with four players scoring in double figures to beat McDonald County 60-43 in the Class 5 District 6 semifinals on Wednesday in Willard.
Hillcrest led by two at 13-11 after one quarter. The Hornets took control of the game with a big second quarter pulling ahead for a 32-19 lead at the half. McDonald County whittled the lead down to nine at 44-35 after three quarters. Hillcrest outscored McDonald County 16-8 in the final frame to put the game away.
The No. 4 seed Hornets were led by Braxton Baker and Amarre Clark with a game-high 15 points each. Cole Griesemer and Taner Hicks were just behind them with 13 points each.

McDonald County was led by 12 points from Sterling Woods.
Hillcrest (16-11) will face No. 8 seed Branson (6-21) in the Class 5 District 6 semifinals on Friday at Willard. Branson upset top-seeded Bolivar 55-52 in the first game of the day.
