Aurora pulls away in second quarter to advance to district title game

Aurora pulled away in the middle quarters to beat Cassville 46-26 and advance to the Class 4 District 12 championship game.

The Lady Houns led 8-7 after one quarter. In the second quarter, the offense got going with an 18-8 advantage to take a 26-15 lead into the half. That trend continued in the third quarter with a 14-6 Aurora edge in that quarter to give the Lady Houns a 40-21 lead after three quarters. Aurora closed the game down with a 6-5 fourth quarter.

Kylee Cole led Aurora and all scorers with 13 points. Payden Blevins was just behind her with 11 points. Madison Halterman led Cassville with 10 points in the loss.

No. 1 Aurora will face No. 2 Seneca in the Class 4 District 12 title game at 6 pm on Saturday in Monett.
