Foster’s 25-point effort leads Branson to upset of Parkview

Taylor Foster scored a game-high 25 points to lead No. 5 Branson to a 50-42 upset of No. 4 Parkview in the opening round of the Class 5 District 6 tournament on Thursday.

Branson doubled up Parkview after one quarter 12-6. Foster scored 10 of Branson’s 12 first-quarter points. The Lady Vikings had a quick response with a 16-5 advantage in the second quarter and a 22-17 lead at the half.

Out of the break, Branson doubled up Parkview again at 14-7 to reclaim the lead at 31-29 after three quarters. In the fourth quarter, Branson had its biggest offensive showing of the game scoring 19 points to 13 for Parkview to close out the win.

Foster went 9-for-14 from the free throw line in the game while hitting eight field goals.

Jestiny Worley led Parkview with 16 points.

Branson advances to face top-seeded West Plains in the Class 5 District 6 semifinals at 1 pm on Saturday in Marshfield.
