WARRENSBURG, Mo.— Drury scored at least one run in seven of nine innings on their way to an 11-5 win at fourth-ranked Central Missouri on Wednesday in Warrensburg.
The win was the sixth straight for the Panthers and lifted their record to 26-16. The Mules fell to 30-12.
Drury scored a run in the first three innings, then produced three runs in the fourth. Luke Burk and Brooks Sunny both homered in that frame as the Panthers built a 6-0 lead.
Central Missouri pulled within three with two runs in the sixth inning, but Tyler Bastunas drove in a run with a single in the seventh and Drury added three more runs in the eighth inning as Wes Collins produced a pair of runs with a double and Kaden Byrne’s triple gave the Panthers a 10-3 advantage.
Cade Waits (5-4) got the win for Drury going six innings allowing seven hits and three earned runs with one walk and three strikeouts.
Cole Schroeder (0-1) took the loss for Central Missouri.
Kellen Williamson went 3 for 5 at the plate for the Panthers with a run, an RBI, a double, and a triple. Cooper Munro was 3 for 4 with a double.
Drury had 17 hits in the game, including 10 extra-base hits.
The win avenged a 13-1 loss to the Mules on March 8 in Ozark.
The Panthers are back at home on Friday when they open a four-game series against Lewis. The first pitch is scheduled for 5 pm at Sky Bacon Stadium in Ozark.
