EAST PEORIA, Ill.—  Two Drury softball players were named to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference team in a vote of league coaches this week. Pitcher Kristina Bettis and outfielder Rylee Kolb were both honored as all-conference selections at the league’s award ceremony in East Peoria, Illinois, the host city of the GLVC Championship Tournament that starts on Thursday.

Senior pitcher Kristina Bettis was named a First Team All-GLVC selection for the second-straight season. Bettis went 14-13 with a 2.53 earned run average. She ranks 25th nationally in NCAA-II with 180 strikeouts to go with 57 walks in 160.1 innings. In conference play, Bettis appeared in 15 games and made 12 starts, going 7-6 with two saves, a 1.34 ERA, and a 0.76 WHIP (walks and hits allowed per innings pitched). She pitched the second no-hitter of her career on April 3 at Missouri S&T, and she was twice named the GLVC’s Pitcher of the Week, winning the honor for March 13-19 and February 16-22.

Rylee Kolb was selected to the All-GLVC Second Team. A junior from Jefferson City, Missouri, Kolb hit .327 with two home runs and 16 runs batted in 37 games. Kolb led the Panthers with 10 doubles and added two triples to post a .504 slugging percentage. Her award marks the second straight season Kolb has been named to the All-GLVC team.

The Panthers will begin play in the GLVC Tournament on Thursday at 12:30 pm against sixth-ranked Indianapolis, the league’s regular season champion. Drury went 25-25, 13-11 in conference play, and is the eighth seed on the conference bracket. The Greyhounds went 47-6 during the regular season and 20-3 in the GLVC.

The conference tournament continues through Sunday at the EastSide Centre in East Peoria, Illinois.
