Greenwood would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Coach Chris Adams and Coach Tim Williams who led the team in its first two seasons, including a district and sectional championship this past season. Their knowledge, experience, and obvious passion for baseball were contributions that were nothing short of tremendous, and we appreciate their time kicking off this program.
Greenwood’s new head baseball coach will be Chris Meza. Meza, a Chicago native, was an assistant baseball coach at Hillcrest High School for six seasons and has been an assistant softball coach at Hillcrest since 2017. Most recently this season, Coach Meza was an assistant with Springfield Catholic on their run to second place in the Missouri State High School Activities Association State Championships. Meza is ready to lead his own program and Greenwood is grateful to have him step up to the plate. Coach Meza will also be teaching Elementary Spanish at Greenwood. Travis Zarechi, a valued member of the coaching staff for the past two seasons, will remain on the coaching staff, along with another assistant to be named soon. Greenwood would like to give genuine gratitude to Coach Harper Henson for leading the volleyball program in its first-ever season. Going to graduate school and recently having her first child has her stepping away from her coaching duties. We thank Coach Henson for her time and efforts and wish her well!
Greenwood is also happy to announce a new head volleyball coach. Coach Bailey Brashers will join the Greenwood family as a graduate assistant and head volleyball coach. Coach Brashers has been a teacher and volleyball coach in Kansas City this past season at J.C. Harmon High School. The volley-jays are excited to have their next leader! Brashers will be assisted by Addison Crider. Coach Crider played volleyball at Central Methodist University for two seasons before transferring and playing Beach Volleyball for Missouri State University. We look forward to her contributions to the program entering only its second season.
