Nixa High School has announced Jenny Talbert as the next Nixa girls basketball head coach.
Talbert will join Nixa after 13 years in charge of the Fair Grove program. She led Fair Grove to the Class 3 state championship back in March.
Talbert was named Class 3 Coach of the Year for leading that state championship run.
“I am very excited to have the opportunity to coach at one of the premier programs in the state. As a high school basketball coach, this is a dream job. I am looking forward to building upon the rich tradition of excellence in Nixa athletics,” Talbert said via a release.
Nixa Director of Athletics and Activities Brandon Clark added “We are very excited to bring coach Talbert into the Nixa family and community. She is regarded as one of the best coaches in southwest Missouri, if not the state, not only for what she produces on the court but also for the character and leadership she brings to her program.”
Talbert takes over at Nixa about one week after Jennifer Perryman stepped down from the same position.
Nixa says a meet and greet for Nixa players and their families will be scheduled for next week.
