Warsaw football finished 8-3 last season, and the Wildcats are looking for even more this year with six offensive and eight defensive starters returning.
“Last year we were able to have a lot of success throughout the season. We had a good balance of seniors and underclassmen contribute to this. We look to build off the momentum that we created last season,” Warsaw head coach Ryan Boyer said.
Four all-conference players return on offense including Riley Taylor (senior OL), Devon Boul (senior OL), Jayce Depriest (junior RB) and Logan Gemes (junior kicker). Wyatt Gemes (senior OL), Kendall Bagley (junior OL), Garrett Ferguson (junior QB) and Drake Murrell (junior WR) return to the offense as well.
Ferguson will take over at quarterback after the graduation of Tayten Boyer who threw for 1,073 yards and rushed for 898 yards. He is the team’s leading returning rusher after he took six carries for 60 yards.
