Fair Grove soccer will be transitioning to a new head coach this year as Krista Miller hands off the reins to new head coach Ryan Highstreet.
The Eagles return all but one starter from last year’s team. Senior Brandon Kandlbinder and sophomore Gavin Brock will be team leaders according to outgoing coach Krista Miller.
“Brandon Kandlbinder is our returning captain from last year. He plays as a center mid and sometimes striker. He is a highly motivated and skilled player. He encourages his team, and he is a great example of a respectful, hardworking, positive leader. He develops great relationships with his teammates and pushes them to be their best,” Miller said. “Gavin Brock is a sophomore this year who has shown himself a leader from day one. He shows up early every day, always gives 100%, has fun, and keeps his teammates focused. He has proven himself to be reliable, committed, and talented.”
Reid Breckner (senior) and Owen Schlak (junior) will be key players at forward. Kandlbinder will be joined by Haddon Lair (senior), Bradley Blecher (senior), Jacob Shurtz (freshman) and Eli Sanders (sophomore) in the midfield. The backline will feature Brock, Garrett Mullis (senior), Blake Winterberg (senior) and Kyle Winterberg (junior).

Wes Hart (sophomore) and Shane Brewer (junior) will handle goalkeeping duties.
“Our team has great chemistry and great communication,” Miller said.
Fair Grove opens the regular season on Aug. 26 with Highstreet taking over.
“The new head coach, Ryan Highstreet, comes to Fair Grove with 20-plus years of coaching under his belt in multiple sports as well as being an athletic director in Southern California,” Miller said. “He has a lengthy and successful career and is ready to coach these boys through a great season. He brings to Fair Grove commitment, loyalty, family, respect, and determination that will be reflected through his players.”
