Ozark’s Josie Roberts was dominant at the COC golf tournament on Monday winning the event by 12 strokes. She shot a two-under 70 with a 37 on the front nine and 33 on the back nine. Three straight birdies on Nos. 15-16-17 helped her climb under par.
Briarbrook Golf Course in Carl Junction was the host of the tournament.
The Carthage duo of Addi Faust and Shay Gaddis finished second and third with 82 and 87. Willard’s Kylee Hopper (87) and Carl Junction’s Anna Birch (88) rounded out the top five individually.
Joplin won the team title with a total of 382. The Eagles used a pack approach to win the team title with Drew Yockey placing eighth with a 91, Kenna Haley tying for ninth with a 93 and Scarlet Satterlee tying for 11th with a 94. Emma McGill’s 104 rounded out the scoring for the Eagles.
Ozark finished runner-up with Roberts followed by Sam Cowan, Lydia Ruby and Eva Lathrom combining for a 389.
Carl Junction was one stroke back in third place at 390 with Anna Burch, Lyric Belcher, Olivia Teeter and Rylie Matyi scoring.
