Glendale’s depth was on display at the Ozark Conference Swim & Dive Championships on Monday night in Springfield. The Falcons scored 327.5 points as a team to easily win the team title by 77 points. Central was runner-up with 250.5 points.
The Falcons brought home four event championships in the 200 medley relay, 200 individual medley, 100 backstroke and the one-meter diving competition.
Sawyer Andrews, Hudson Andrews, Trenton Sheets and Colton Dixon combined to bring home gold in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:43.67. Sawyer Andrews claimed a second gold medal by winning the 100 backstroke in 56.97. Carson Butler claimed the third swimming gold for Glendale in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:07.52.
Kayson Monteleon brought home Glendale’s fourth gold medal by winning the one-meter diving competition with 328.95 points.
Camdenton’s Ethan Vance was the star of the meet individually as he set two new meet records. He swam a 20.92 in the 50 freestyle to set that meet record before going 46.15 in the 100 freestyle for his second. Vance brought home a third gold medal as a part of Camdenton’s 200 freestyle relay. He was joined by Hunter Johnson, Nathaniel Beeson and Tyler Foster. The quartet posted a time of 1:32.66.
Kickapoo’s Bryce Ruder also won three gold medals with championships in the 200 (1:48.01) and 500 (4:53.48) freestyles while swimming a leg on the 400 freestyle relay (3:24.88). He was joined by Kannon King, Jackson Witte on the relay Dominic Bratcher.
Central’s Brayden Miao won the two remaining gold medals in the 100 butterfly (55.66) and 100 breaststroke (1:02.20).
