Galena’s historic season ran into one of the state’s best Class 1 programs in Advance on Friday in the state semifinals. The Lady Bears fell 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-16) to the defending state champions.
“[I] give Advance a lot of credit,” said Galena Head Volleyball Coach Joe Miller. “A very good team, they didn’t make many mistakes and we just couldn’t match what they were doing….we will come back tomorrow and fight.”

Kaesha Walter led Galena with nine kills to go with 10 digs. Baylee Stacy contributed 17 total digs to lead the team. Breeanna Rice had eight assists for Galena.
Galena faces Northwest (Hughesville) in the third place matchup Saturday at 2 p.m.
