Jasper boys basketball improved from three wins two seasons ago to nine wins last season. The Eagles will look to take another step forward this season.

“We are in the process of building our program and we hope this year we will take the next step,” Jasper head coach Skip Brock said. “Many of our players have made an investment in the off-season, and we believe we have improved our skill level and athleticism.”

Seniors Wyatt Durman and Gage Hall along with sophomore Treyton Ritchhart return for Jasper.

Durman averaged 8.6 points per game with 2 rebounds last season. He will look to increase his scoring total after expanding his game in the off-season.

Hall is a 6’3 forward who averaged 8.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as a junior. He was the team’s leading rebounder who is a threat inside and outside.

Ritchhart started every game as a freshman handing out 73 total assists.

Seniors Liam Connor and Parker Greene along with juniors Lincoln Moss and Will Thompson and freshman Gaige Mitchell will be newcomers to watch for Jasper.

“Experience and improved competitiveness, and understanding of how we need to play the game on both the offensive and defensive ends (will be strengths),” Brock said.

Jasper opens the regular season Nov. 27 through Dec. 2 at the Dennis Cornish Classic in Lockwood.

“We define our own success by striving to become the best team we can become,” Brock said. “If we play the right way and strive to improve every day, the scoreboard will take care of itself.”
