Weaubleau girls basketball returns its four leading scorers from last season’s team led by a pair of all-conference seniors in Sutton Mitchell and Jaylee Daggett.
Mitchell was named first-team all-conference after she averaged 14.8 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists per game. Daggett poured in 13.9 points per game to go with a team-high 9 rebounds.
Tayler Ashlock (senior guard) and Nichole Carney (senior post) round out the four-player senior class. Ashlock averaged 4 points and 4.3 rebounds more game. Carney pulled down 2.3 rebounds per game.
Junior forward Julianna Hensley will be a key rebounder this season. Sophomore Sophia Weaver brings shooting and defense coming off a freshman season that saw her average 5.9 points per game.

Freshman guard Masyn Ashlock will look to impact varsity as a freshman.
This year’s Weaubleau Lady Tigers bring improved depth overall.
“Our numbers are up from 8 to 14 this year, and most of them could see some varsity time,” Weaubleau head coach Sue Ginnings said. “Last year was a rebuilding year for us everyone learning their roles on the team. I believe that we are now comfortable with them now and can continue to grow within those roles.”
Weaubleau opens the season Nov. 27 through Dec. 2 at the Warsaw Tournament.
“These girls have the no quit attitude, so I hope that it’s the don’t count us out reputation,” Ginnings said. “Because you never know what can happen.”
