Seven area schools are combining to form a new athletic conference called the Greater Ozarks Conference. Founding members of the new league are Billings, Crane, Greenwood, Marion C. Early, New Covenant Academy, Pleasant Hope, and Spokane.

The new conference will begin play with the 2024-25 academic school year.

Billings, Crane, and Spokane move to the GOC from the Southwest Central League. New Covenant Academy joins from the Mark Twain Conference while Pleasant Hope moves to the GOC from the Southwest Conference. Greenwood and Marion C. Early will each join the league from independent status.

Pleasant Hope is the only school in the group with a football program. The Pirates have been playing JV only in recent years and will continue to play an independent football schedule.
