No. 4 seed Fordland was in control throughout on the way to a 54-27 win over No. 13 seed Verona in the opening round of the Walnut Grove Holiday Tournament.
The Eagles led 18-7 after one quarter and 36-19 at the half. Out of the half, Fordland showed off its defense prowess by holding Verona scoreless in the frame to push its lead to 47-19 on the way to the 54-27 win.

Loren Bojko scored 18 points to lead Fordland and all scorers. Emma Trotter (12 points) and Kenzie Haskins (10 points) each scored in double figures as well.
Fordland advances to play No. 5 seed Blue Eye in the quarterfinal round at 10:30 am on Saturday at Walnut Grove. Verona will face No. 12 seed Hollister in the consolation quarterfinals at 1:30 pm on Saturday at Ash Grove.
