Marionville jumped out to a 27-4 lead on Greenfield in the opening round of the Walnut Grove Holiday Basketball Tournament and never looked back on the way to a 75-16 win.
Seven different Lady Comets scored led by Lucy Newberry’s 21-point effort. Dally Pomeroy was just behind her with 19 points. The duo each hit three 3-pointers in the win.

Maggie Murphy also scored in double figures for Marionville with 10 points.
Marionville advances to face the winner of No. 7 Sparta and No. 10 Fair Play in the quarterfinal round at 12 pm on Saturday at Walnut Grove. Greenfield will face the loser of that game at 9 am on Saturday at Ash Grove in the consolation quarterfinals.
