No. 5 Niangua had the best offensive quarter of the opening round of the Walnut Grove Holiday Tournament on its way to a 77-40 win over No. 12 Fordland.
The Cardinals led 18-13 after one quarter and 32-23 at the half.
Out of the break, Niangua put the game away by doubling its first half score in one quarter scoring 32 points in the frame to bring its lead to 64-31 on the way to a 77-40 win.

Ethan Scheetz led all scorers with 22 points. He was closely followed by Clayton Henderson with 19 points, Tanier Dunn with 17 points and Evan Kochs with 14 points.
Isaac Vickers scored 18 points to lead Fordland.
Niangua advances to face No. 4 seed Marionville in the quarterfinal round at 7:30 pm on Saturday in Walnut Grove. Fordland will face No. 13 Hollister in the consolation quarterfinals at 4:30 pm on Saturday at Morrisville.
