ST. LOUIS — The Missouri Valley Conference has named Missouri State guard Nick Kramer (RFr., St. Louis, Mo.) as its Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday (Jan. 8).

Kramer’s breakout week featured a 10-point effort against Northern Iowa at home on Jan. 3 that included a pair of three-pointers and 2-for-2 effort at the free throw line. He followed that with 6 points at Bradley on another couple of triples at Carver Arena.

For the week, Kramer averaged 8.0 points and was 4-of-8 from bonus distance with 4 rebounds and just one turnover in 37 minutes on the floor.

After undergoing back surgery over the summer, Kramer’s two games last week marked just his second and third appearances this season.

The transfer from Saint Louis University is the first Missouri State player to earn the newly-created MVC Freshman of the Week honor.

Also honored this week by the MVC were Newcomer of the Week Malik Dia of Belmont and Player of the Week Connor Hickman of Bradley.
