PEORIA, Ill. – Missouri State women’s basketball (10-3, 4-0) earned a dominant road victory and pushed its win streak to seven games with a 94-66 win at Bradley (4-11, 0-4) here Thursday night.
Except for a Bradley three-pointer to start the game, it was all Lady Bears from the jump on the road in Peoria. Following a Kyrah Daniels triple to tie the game at 3-3, Jade Masogayo gave MSU its first lead of the night and the Lady Bears would never surrender it.
MSU set the tone early, knocking down three treys in the first quarter and going 10-for-18 from the field. The dominance would continue into the second quarter with the Lady Bears holding Bradley to just three points until the 1:55 mark of the second quarter to push the lead to 45-21. Missouri State also continued to light it up offensively, shooting 73 percent (11-15) from the field while protecting the ball, owning just two turnovers in the first half. Late in the quarter, the Braves would find a little offense and cut the deficit to 49-32 at the half.
The first half saw Missouri State’s highest-scoring half this season at 49 points on 21-for-33 shooting (.636) from the field. Indya Green led the way in the first half with 17 points on 7-for-8 shooting, followed by Daniels with 13.
Out of the half, the Lady Bears kept their foot on the gas, eventually pushing their lead to a game-high 31 points near the halfway point of the fourth period. Bradley found some offensive success in the final frame, but Missouri State’s early dominance was too much for the Braves as the Lady Bears were able to cruise to a 28-point victory on the road.
Twelve different Lady Bears scored points in the game, led by Green with 21 points on 9-for-12 shooting and tying for the game high with four steals. Daniels tied her career high with 15 points, four rebounds and three assists. Paige Rocca joined in double figures with 13 points, while freshman Louis Volker scored a career-high 12 points on 6-for-9 from the field. Lacy Stokes led the way with six assists, while freshman Kaemyn Bekemeier contributed a career-high in assists (3) and steals (4).
As a team, Missouri State committed just four turnovers, collected 22 assists and tallied 15 steals. The Lady Bears also forced 20 Bradley turnovers and took advantage, scoring 29 points off those mishaps. MSU shot 57 percent (41-72) from the field, 41 percent (7-17) from three and 63 percent (5-8) for the game as the Lady Bears eclipsed their previous high point total for the season by 20 points.
