Blue Eye’s defense stepped up in the final three quarters of the Galena Lady Bear Classic championship game to come away with a 45-37 win over Fordland.
Fordland came out on fire scoring 18 points in the first quarter to take an 18-11 lead after one quarter. Blue Eye’s defense was the story for the rest of the game holding Fordland to just 19 total points over the final three quarters.
Kaylee Wilson led Blue Eye and all scorers with 19 points on the way to tournament MVP honors. Hailey Hobbs also scored in double figures with 12 for Blue Eye. Fordland was paced by Emma Trotter’s 16 points.
Reeds Spring was dominant in the third place game with a 47-13 win. Allie Johnson scored 21 points to lead Reeds Spring.
RUSH beat Exeter 68-46 in the consolation final paced by 34 points by Hannah Gibbons.
In the seventh place game, Jaema Schimmels scored 26 points to lead Hurley past host Galena.
