West Plains wins SWMO Swim & Dive championships

West Plains was dominant on its way to winning the Southwest Missouri Women’s Varsity Swim & Dive Championship team title on Saturday. The Lady Zizzers won four of 11 swimming events on the way to scoring 420 points. Kickapoo finished runner-up with 354 points followed by Ozark in third with 334 points.

Paige Sheridan proved why she is one of the area’s top swimmers by bringing home gold medals in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:57.90 and the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:15.81. West Plains also won the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.94) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:43.46).

Runner-up Kickapoo won three pool gold medals led by Addy Moore. Moore won two individual gold medals taking first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:10.82) and 100-yard fly (59.13). Kickapoo’s 200-yard medley relay team won in a time of 1:53.25.

Carl Junction’s Chloe Miller rounded out the swimmers to win multiple individual gold medals placing first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.32) and 100-yard freestyle (53.94).

Lebanon’s Missy Mizell (100-yard back) and Lucy Hough (100-yard breaststroke) rounded out the swimming gold medals.
