SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury Lady Panthers forward Reese Schaaf was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for the second week in a row following her performance on Saturday at Southwest Baptist.
In Drury’s lone game last week, Schaaf scored 21 points and matched a career-high with 17 rebounds in a 102-70 win over the Bearcats in Bolivar. The sophomore from El Dorado Springs, Missouri, went 8 for 11 from the field, made her only three-point attempt, and was 4 for 6 from the free throw line. Schaaf added three steals and two assists in Saturday’s win that fell on her birthday.
Schaaf’s double-double was her 10th of the year and her seventh in the last eight games.
She was the GLVC Player of the Week last week and earned the honor for the week of Jan. 8-14.
Drury has won eight straight games and is 16-4 with an 11-3 record in the GLVC. The Lady Panthers are on the road for two games this week as they take on Rockhurst on Thursday at 5:15 pm in Kansas City, then William Jewell on Saturday at 1 pm in Liberty, Missouri.
