RELEASE – SBU Head Football coach Robert Clardy is excited to announce the signing 47 student-athletes on 2024 National Signing day.

“Signing day is always a special time for our program with a lot of excitement. The coaches set out to find great football players that fit our mission here at Southwest Baptist” – Clardy said. “This year is also very special to me because of the amount of outstanding talent we got from the state of Missouri.” Clardy and his staff signed 34 kids who have played football in the State of Missouri, the biggest in SBU football history. “The staff did a great job recruiting quality student-athletes that can excel both on and off the field here.”

One of the biggest recruiting classes in SBU history is due to the outstanding effort from coaching staff, SBU faculty and staff, and community. “Another reason we have success in recruiting these student-athletes and their families is our great professors and university staff members who assisted with our visits. We received an abundance of praise on how great our academic meetings were and how helpful everyone was they encountered. Our coaches hard work, the support of SBU faculty and staff, and the Bolivar community has really helped us put this outstanding class together. I couldn’t be more excited to get these young men on campus.”

This class has a wide variety of talent from across the country and across many different positions. This class includes 40 high schoolers and 7 transfers.
