SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury Lady Panthers took down Missouri–St. Louis on Thursday 89-68 for their 11th win in a row. The win moves Drury to 19-4 on the season and to 14-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

After leading 37-31 at halftime, Drury found their rhythm in the third quarter, scoring 27 points and extending their lead to 14 heading into the fourth quarter. The Lady Panthers never looked back, cruising to an 89-68 victory.

Drury guard Caitlynn Daniels led the Lady Panther offense, scoring 19 points and dishing out 13 assists. Daniels’ assist mark was a Drury single-game record, surpassing the previous record of 11, which was held by several players including Paige Robinson, Addy Roller, and Dejah Bernard.

“It was a great performance (by Caitlynn), but it certainly wasn’t a surprise,” said Drury head coach Kaci Bailey. “Caitlynn is constantly looking to get her teammates involved and her vision on the floor is a huge advantage for our team. For her to break a record that was held by so many of the Drury greats, it’s a tremendous achievement.”

“It’s a huge honor to break a record held by so many great players,” said Daniels. “It wouldn’t ever have been possible without my teammates, they make all the shots; it makes my job easy,” Daniels is currently leading the GLVC in assists per game and ranks 12th nationally in the category.

Drury Sophomore Reese Schaaf contributed 18 points and 13 rebounds for Drury and Makaiya Brooks finished with 19 points on 5 of 7 shooting from the field.

Missouri–St. Louis fell to 11-13 with the loss and 9-9 in conference play. They were led in scoring by Jalysa Stokes, who had a game-high 24 points.

The Lady Panthers continue Great Lakes Valley Conference action when they host McKendree at 1 pm at the O’Reilly Family Event Center on Saturday.
