Class 2 District 11 boys basketball quarterfinal recap

Crane, Spokane and Wheaton all advanced to the Class 2 District 11 semifinals with wins on Tuesday night.

No. 4 seed Purdy and No. 5 seed Crane got the action started on Tuesday. Crane led throughout with a 14-8 lead after one quarter, a 23-18 lead at the half and a 39-33 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Purdy turned it on the fourth quarter with a 13-7 advantage to force overtime where Crane won the game 51-50.

Carter Keeling led all scorers with 27 points for Purdy. Kolton Hoffman led Crane with 18 points.

Spokane’s defense was stout throughout in a 67-29 win over Gloria Deo. The Owls did not allow Gloria Deo to score in double digits in any single quarter in the game. Ethan Newell led all scorers with 16 points.

Wheaton won every quarter on the way to a 62-37 win over Galena. Brody Bateman led three Wheaton players in double figures with 19 points. Houston Roller scored 15 points and Blake Morgan scored 12 points. Bobby Harris led Galena with 15 points.

Crane will play host and top-seeded Blue Eye in the semifinal round at 6 pm on Thursday. Spokane and Wheaton will face off in the second semifinal at 7:30 pm.
