Spokane, Crane and Fordland all moved on to the semifinal round of the Class 2 District 11 girls basketball tournament on Monday night.
Spokane opened up the night with a 56-45 win over Greenwood. The Owls were hot from three in the first half knocking down six 3-pointers to account for 18 of the team’s 26 first-half points. In the second half, it was the Sydney Bryan show. Bryan scored 17 of her 19 points in the second half accounting for more than half of Spokane’s second-half offensive output.
Greenwood’s Elif Benzer matched Bryan’s 19 points in the loss.
In the second game of the night, Crane used a balanced attack to pull away for a 54-28 win over Galena. The Lady Pirates had nine different players score led by 14 points from Kailey Vaught.
Fordland wrapped up the first round of the district tournament with a75-28 win over New Covenant. The Lady Eagles scored 22, 22 and 20 points in each of the first three quarters to build up a big lead. Emma Trotter scored 19 points to lead nine different Fordland players who scored in the game.
Spokane moves on to face top-seeded Blue Eye in the semifinal round at 6 pm on Wednesday. Crane and Fordland will play in the second semifinal at 7:30 pm.
